Covenant House California (CHC) is a non-profit agency whose mission is to reach out to at-risk homeless youth living on the streets and offer them hope and opportunities to turn their lives around. They help abused or neglected youth who have nowhere else to go. A large number have been thrown out of their homes while others have aged out or left the foster care system with no family, no support system, and no one to turn to.
Since 1988, CHC has impacted the lives of more than 150,000 homeless youth out of their Los Angeles and Bay Area facilities. Some of their core services include: food, shelter, crisis intervention, medical care, employment and educational training, job referrals, as well as other critically needed services.
CHC is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. All services are offered for free. 80% of their funding comes from private donors.
Covenant House California (CHC) truly believes in the untapped potential of these underserved youth living on the streets and so does Kuviez! The CHC facility houses 100 beds so these emotionally scarred children who timidly enter their doors have a safe place to sleep and call home. Homeless kids arriving at their door are often frightened and mistrustful. Young men and women can grow only when they feel safe and secure – Covenant House protects them from the perils of the street and offers that important sense of security. With a scarce budget, the bedding at the CHC is often last priority. The sheets are often tattered and worn-out. At Kuviez, we believe that comfortable sleep is an essential pillar for developing, nurturing and growing all children to optimal health. We are honored to partner with CHC and donate Kuviez sheet sets to create a ‘Safe Haven’ for our homeless youth.
When you purchase Kuviez, not only are you creating a WIN for your child, giving them reliable, cozy, nighttime coverage you can count on, but you are also helping a homeless youth feel loved.
Being a Mother of 2 children, living with hope and love in my heart, I innately see the higher potential in our youth who are barely surviving on the streets of Los Angeles. It is our job as a community to help nurture our victimized kids back to health, believing in their highest potential until they learn to believe in themselves. When we work together as a community, we heighten and enlighten the health and achievements within our community. Everyone Wins!
